Brake and clutch repair at AutoShack

Brakes and clutches both change through wear, and unusual behaviour should be checked before it develops into a larger problem. AutoShack inspects the reported symptom and advises on repair or replacement.

The supplied clutch information identifies disc wear, flywheel damage and hydraulic linkage or cable failure as possible causes of slipping, sticking or juddering. The brake information stresses that warning signs should not be ignored because braking performance is safety-critical.

Brake and clutch problems explained

Clutch problems can relate to wear in the disc, damage to the flywheel or a failure in the hydraulic linkage or cable. AutoShack checks the system and advises whether repair or replacement is appropriate.

For braking concerns, describe the pedal feel, noises and any dashboard warnings. An ABS diagnostic check may help when a warning light is present, while wider mechanical work can be handled through car repairs.

What a great bunch of lads. Went out their way to replace an ABS sensor on my car after I broke down. Very reasonable and honest garage, highly recommend to anyone!

Mixed experience with Auto Shack. I took my Vauxhall Corsa in for a timing chain and water pump. While the car is now running perfectly and sounds much quieter than before, the process was quite frustrating. What was meant to be a quick job turned into nearly a week of delays due to a faulty part being fitted initially, followed by a supplier error with a missing gasket.
To their credit, they provided a courtesy car to keep me mobile and upgraded me to a premium water pump to ensure the fix was solid. They also replaced all the relevant gaskets for the parts they had to remove, which gives me peace of mind that the job was done thoroughly and won't leak. The mechanical work seems top-notch, though communication regarding the delays could have been better. If you aren't in a rush, the quality of the work is excellent, but be prepared for potential timeline shifts

This place is a gorgeous spacious super high ceiling workshop. The staff diagnosed a leak on my backbox whilst changing my tyres and took time to talk me through options as well as tightening some loose clamps. This was a nice complementary extra care to receive. They also showed me how the wheel alignment works which was really cool to see. Every team member I met has been really courteous. They could do with more spacious car park as it can be tricky to manoeuvre around.
